Persistent Identifier
  • An identifier is any label used to name something uniquely.  A persistent identifier is guaranteed to be managed and kept up to date over a defined time period. This enables longitudinal data to be associated with the identifier.
Pre-Production (Pre-Prod)
  • Pre-Production (Pre-Prod) is a copy of production with production data. This environment is not using live data however it should be representative of live data. This allows for further testing of new functionality before the new functionality is made available to production environments.

  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) is a term for software and products services combining security information management (SIM) and security event manager (SEM). SIEM technology provides real-time analysis of security alerts generated by network hardware and applications.   • Structured Query Language - The ANSI internationally accepted standard for relational database systems, covering query, data definition, manipulation, security, and some aspects of referential and entity integrity. 
Staging
  • The staging component is made up of separate staging databases (one per diocese). This enables dioceses to securely integrate according to their requirements under a standardised data schema that is optimised for collection of data. The diocesan staging environment is purpose built for simplified ETL processes.
Summary Data
  • This refers to data that has been aggregated or transformed from the detailed level data which may reside in all of the database objects of the broader data warehouse.
Synchronisation
  • The process by which the data in two or more separate databases are synchronised so that the records contain the same information.

  • A tabular view of data within a relational database management system (DBMS) which is defined by one or more columns of data and a primary key.
TCO
  • Total Cost of Ownership. A calculation which includes all costs such as purchase and support of a device during its useful life.

Unique Identifier
  • A unique identifier (UID) is a numeric or alphanumeric string that is associated with a single entity within a given system. UIDs make it possible to address that entity, so that it can be accessed and interacted with.

  • A means of accessing a subset of data in a database.
